Terms of Service

Version 1 — 10 July 2026

1. Who we are, and what the service is

FirmGuard Verify ("the Service") is provided by Friam Ltd ("Friam", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, VAT number GB419765755. The Service lets a UK law firm ("you", "the firm") send a client a secure link to complete identity verification, screens that client against sanctions and PEP (politically exposed person) lists, and keeps a dated record of the check for your files.

2. What's included

3. Price, quota and billing

FirmGuard Verify is £99 per month plus VAT, or £990 per year plus VAT, billed in advance. The subscription includes 50 client checks per calendar month. Checks beyond that quota are billed at £1.50 plus VAT each — we never block a check mid-matter; the counter simply keeps score. New accounts get a 30-day free trial with the full 50-check quota and no card required to start.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not retrospectively refund the current billing period unless required by law.

4. Your responsibilities

FirmGuard supports your firm's client due diligence — it does not replace it. Decisions about who to onboard, when to apply enhanced due diligence, how to act on a screening match, and when to file a suspicious activity report remain the responsibility of your firm and its COLP/MLRO. You remain bound by the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 and any other obligations that apply to your firm, whatever the Service reports.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, for controlling access to your account, and for using the Service in line with your firm's own risk-based approach.

5. Not legal advice

Nothing in the Service, its outputs, or this site constitutes legal advice. Where a screening result or a compliance question needs judgement, that judgement is yours (or your firm's professional advisers') to make.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update these terms, the Service, or its pricing from time to time; material changes will be notified to active subscribers by email in advance of taking effect.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
